June 05, 2019 6:30 PM - London Brexit has been a massive distraction for many in the UK supply chain, but what happens next? Consumer trends keep on changing and the market keeps on consolidating in some areas and fragmenting in others. It looks as if some things in the supply chain post Brexit will seem familiar, but other things will change the supply chain dynamic for ever.

The use of social media to communicate with consumers continues apace. The use of big data and blockchain type technologies are coming to the fore. Provenance is still a key issue as is the whole question of sustainability.

The high street is still under pressure from online and convenience based shopping systems. What are the future prospects, threats and opportunities for those based in the UK and those further away?

Come and ask a panel of experts, deliberately chosen to reflect a range of different interests in the market place from the UK and then much further away, on how they see the UK food and drink market & supply chain developing over the next 12 months on onwards.
The Panel Michelle Charrington, Food Executive, Invest NI Martin Sutherland, Commercial Director, Food Industry Centre - Cardiff Met University Luke Crossman, Senior Market Analyst, AHDB  George Smith, UK & Scandinavian Director, Washington Apples Commission Jaime Cardenas, UK Director, Peruvian Trade & Investment Office Dr Chris Kebbell, Agriculture Counsellor, NZ High Commission This event will be chaired by John Giles - President of CIM's Food, Drink and Agriculture Group.   CPD category: Insights
Duration: 2 hours

Registration and networking is from 18:30; the event starts at 19:00 and finishes at 20:45. If you are non-EU resident, please contact the Regional Events team to make your booking.

Nonington Village Hall, CT15 4HA 13.00 - 16.30 Join us to learn about arable plants and how management for these species can fit into modern agriculture. This workshop is for agronomists, farm advisors, farmers and land managers. This Colour in the Margins workshop run by Tim Clarke (FWAG) focuses on how to identify some arable plants and how to implement management to benefit these species. We will visit some areas under suitable management to view arable plant species and explore strategies for dealing with problem weed species.
