About IFMA

The International Farm Management Association is a sister organization of IAgrM with membership in over 50 countries.

Membership includes the whole spectrum of individual and corporate producers, managers, advisers, researchers, teachers, policy-makers, suppliers, farming and marketing organizations and agribusiness companies associated with agriculture, horticulture and rural enterprise.

IFMA's main activity is a biennial international congress  and a joint international technical journal with IAgrM.

The objective of the Association is to further the knowledge and understanding of farm business management and to exchange ideas and information about farm management theory and practice throughout the world.

International Congresses

These are organised every other year in countries around the world. They are organised locally, usually last for six days, which together with additional pre- and post congress tours, provide an occasion to discuss farm management and agriculture in a global context, but also to learn a great deal about the host country's farming structure and its people. They are truly unique opportunities.

The IFMA23 conference has been postponed

We have been working on the program for the IFMA Congress to be held in Copenhagen next year, but we have to acknowledge that the Covid-19 numbers are again increasing around the world. We have discussed the issue with Trevor Atkinson, the President of IFMA, over recent months and have come to the conclusion to postpone the IFMA23 congress until 2022. The congress will now start on the 26th of June and finish on the 1st of July, 2022.

The program will remain almost the same with respect to the pre- and post-tours, just as the main conference program will remain the same.

We intend to help to host some webinar meetings next summer as a warm up to the conference in 2022. The webinars will deal with selected topics from different regions organized by the IFMA Council. There will also be sessions with a focus on Next Generation farmers where they present their challenges. You will be able to find the links for the webinars on the IFMA23 homepage.
